Artist: Marco Bucci

Some snaps from Marco Bucci's instructional videos. These are simple (not his main work) but still full of character. (I love his work and will probably (?) add more of his paintings to this post for future reference / studies.)

The Song of Wandering Aengus

The Song of Wandering Aengus

 - 1865-1939

I went out to the hazel wood,
Because a fire was in my head,
And cut and peeled a hazel wand,
And hooked a berry to a thread;
And when white moths were on the wing,
And moth-like stars were flickering out,
I dropped the berry in a stream
And caught a little silver trout.

When I had laid it on the floor
I went to blow the fire a-flame,
But something rustled on the floor,
And someone called me by my name:
It had become a glimmering girl
With apple blossom in her hair
Who called me by my name and ran
And faded through the brightening air.

Though I am old with wandering
Through hollow lands and hilly lands,
I will find out where she has gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And walk among long dappled grass,
And pluck till time and times are done,
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun.

I love this poem. I'm posting it here for a few reasons:

-It's beautiful and inspirational

-Perhaps I'll illustrate it eventually

-Keep human! Drawing is technical but art shouldn't be completely mechanical.  :)

Learn: characterdesignreferences.com

An excellent website filled with reference and instructional images like the one below.

Artist: Angel Ganev: Some Excellent Reference Videos

Angel Ganev is a talented artist who, if I understand correctly, is entirely self-taught. I wouldn't say I'm the hugest fan of his humour (in fact, some of these videos may be NSFW) but Angel gives very good advice and makes PDF’s to help budding artists (which is cool; he could be charging for these). I wanted to list some especially useful videos here for future viewing and reference.
